This 3-CD set contains over three hours of heart sounds and murmurs and is combined with an instruction booklet. Designed to introduce the user to the fundamentals of cardiac auscultation, it contains a wide spectrum of examples from normal heart sounds and their variants to many other events. This cardiac auscultatory programme consists of 100% digitally recorded patients for maximum sound quality with no background noise. It contains demonstrations of dissected cardiac cycles to help facilitate understanding of the abnormalities present. A special feature is the self tests ("What's Your Diagnosis?") - a series of 14 case histories with unknown auscultatory abnormalities. The compact disc format allows the user to skip ahead directly to the required track and listen to the digitally produced actual heart sounds and murmurs, derived from several hundred patients.
