It is the product of an intensive team effort to train the faculty of an inner city high school in advanced listening and stress reduction methods distilled from the Focusing process. Focusing was developed through research at the University of Chicago, by Dr. Eugene Gendlin as a powerful tool for change. This project, implemented in a very challenging academic setting, resulted in a significant improvement in all three criteria used by the school to measure performance; attendance, dropout rate, and grades. This anthology can also be used as a general introduction to Focusing for people who are new to the process.
