Jacob, Palatine Boy of the Revolution (Electronic book text)

Jacob, a fourth-generation Palatine, is a tender-hearted, dreamer who shuns discord. As a twelve-year-old, in 1775, he lives a contented existence with his beloved family and friends among other farmers along the Mohawk River in western New York Province, but becomes aware that the devastating conflict, raging in the East, threatens to envelop them. His greatest fear is that he will be unable to live up to the brave examples set by his grandfather, Hans, his father, Johan, and his older brother, Conrad. Jacob comes of age during a chaos that eradicates loyalties, lives and property as unimaginable atrocities are committed in the 'War for Independence'.
