The Adventures of Alfie Mouse - In Search of the Perfect Cheese (Paperback)

Alfie Mouse lives in London and is an adventurer. With his inseparable friend Tommy the Tortoise they travel the world in search of new experiences. In this book, they go to Africa seeking some strange looking hybrid cows. Strange they may be, but they produce creamy milk in an unusual way and that milk is used to make very special cheese. Alfie, being a mouse, just loves cheese.
Their journey takes them by plane from London, then by dugout canoe down the Zambezi River and finally they trek through the jungle to find the Umgala Tribe who breed the cows. On their way, they encounter some dangerous animals. A hippopotamus nearly capsizes their boat and one leopard in particular has Alfie on its lunch menu.
When they reach the tribe, the boys soon discover they are not as primitive as they first thought. Their Chief has more than a few surprises for them.
