Entry as to the succession of John Allen, the Warden, to the mastership on the resignation of Lancelot Baugh Allen (Y). 5 June, 182o. Entry as to the election of Jefferys Thomas Allen as Warden, and his admission (Y). 6 Nov. 182o. 'James Edwin one of the poor scholars was apprenticed but thrown on the world by the death of his master before the expiration of his apprenticeship. He enlisted as an Artillery man in the E.I. Go's service, it was ordered that ten pounds be paid to his Commanding Officer for his use and benefit, either to be paid to him when he arrives in India or to be laid out for his use before his departure.' 3 July, 1824. ' Resolved that a donation of ten pounds be given to assist in the erection of a new school in that part of Camberwell parish where Mr Vane Rev. John Vane a fellow of the College is officiating Clergyman of the. new district Church.' In July 1824 the donation to the poor scholars who have conducted themselves to the satisfaction of the College during their apprenticeship is increased from ten to twenty-five pounds, and not long afterwards to thirty pounds, and again in 1831 to thirty-five pounds. Paper, quarto. 57. Private Sittings. IV. 1829--1853. 16 Mar. 183o. Mr. Barry is appointed Surveyor. II Jan. 1834. 'Having obtained permission from the College to let for a day school the work-shop behind the premisses occupied by James Jenkins on condition that it shall not be used as a boarding school or converted into a sleeping place or Cottage, I accept the permission on the terms proposed and consent that if the same shall be in any respect infringed or broken the permission shall from thenceforth cease and the restriction in my lease be in full force.' 27 Nov. 1834.
