Since the commencement of the Interim constitution, the South African legal world has encountered all the challenges and problems, but also the excitement, related to a constitution which is fully entrenched and justiciable. In this edition of Constitutional Law, the provisions of and developments relating to the constitution are discussed within the context of the general principles of constitutional law and with reference to the literature and case law on the Interim constitution and the constitution, updated to the end of 2003. Relevant constitutional concepts are explained when and where necessary. As in previous editions, the presentation and explanation of the subject-matter are aimed at students who follow Constitutional Law fairly early in their legal studies.
