This report presents the main findings of a research project which investigated teachers' and headteachers' perceptions of effective management in primary, secondary and special schools. The main aim of the project was to identify management processes and structures in individual schools which staff of these schools have recognized as effective practice. Data were gathered through a questionnaire survey and interviews and the report includes case studies of two schools, one primary and one secondary, which exemplify good practice in school management.
