These rules and regulations shall take effect, and be in force, from the 28th day of August, 1841, and until the same shall be altered; but no alteration, addition, or new rule and regulation, shall be made, except with the consent of, at least, two-thirds of the members present, at a special meeting, to be called for that purpose--notice of the intention to move an alteration, being also made, at any previous meeting, at least ten days before such meeting take place. (Lancaster.) 'HE John O'Gaunt's Bowmen are an old and important society. They were revived at Lancaster in the year 1788, and again revived in 1820, since which time they appear to have prospered. Numbeb Of Membebs.--The number of members is now about thirty, to which number the society is limited. Costume See Rule II. Pbizes.--For an account of the prizes see Rules X. and XI. Rules--The following are the Rules and Regulations of the John O'Gaunt's Bowmen, as revised and reprinted in 1838. I. That the society shall consist of thirty members, and shall not exceed that number. II. The uniform of the society shall be a dark green bodycoat, lined with white silk, with the society's buttons, and black trousers, and plain white waistcoat, with the uniform button, and black neckcloth, or stock, for full dress.
