We must teach what we learn from others; but Christ was original. We may discover truth, Christ creates it; we may learn the truth, but Christ is the truth. In this characteristic we do not despair of our own teaching, but we are greatly encouraged. When we teach the truth he taught we may know it is not tradition, but original. This we should not try to imitate, since the truth we teach is not ours, but his. (2) Authority. "He taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes."
