In addition to what has been given to Missions, the Parishioners have contributed money for various other purposes, as follows, viz: to the Clerical Fund, $8 61; for the Relief of the Widows and Orphans of deceased Clergymen, 810; to the Episcopal Chapel for Seamen, in Boston, $3 50; to increase the Parish Library, $10 36; Ladies' Society, $12 50; Communion Alms, $36 56; Christmas Gift to the Rector, $91 50; Christmas Gift to the Rector's wife, from the ladies of the Parish, $76; Contributions by a few gentlemen towards paying the Church debt, 866 00; the whole amount, including $40 for Missions, is $355 03. Regular day services were commenced in this Parish, by the present incumbent, on the 2d Sunday after Easter, April 14. An evening service on Sundays had been given to the people for some months, during the last Autumn and Winter, by the Rev. P. H. Greenleaf, Rector of St. John's Church, Charlestown; who merits and has the gratitude of the people for his voluntary interest in their religious welfare. When he ceased to be able to give them this service, it was continued for some weeks by several Clergymen in Boston and the vicinity, and at Easter it was suspended, (although the attendance had been remarkably good, ) because it was felt that without the regular day services of the Church, a Parish could not be...
