Married, Oct. 8, 1844, Eli2aheth Hunton Craig, and June 28, 1896, Georgia C. Nickerson. He has two sons, Nelson Shepard and Fred Emery. Admitted to Kennehec Bar, in Augusta, 1843, and has practiced his profession in Readfield since 1844. Memher of House of Representatives 185r, S'ate Senate 1856. Beane, was horn in Readfield, Me, May 14, 1853. Edocated in Maine Wesleyan and Westhrook Seminaries, and Tufts College, class of 1875. Married in i876, Had four children, three now living.
