Born in New York City to a nice Jewish family, Rebecca Feinstein, while a student at Columbia University in the mid-sixties, becomes a Catholic and to the dismay of her family and friends, enters a cloistered monastery in Brooklyn Heights. This is her story of faith and struggle in a strange and wonderful "new world."
