Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882 - 1945) was the 32nd President during a time of world wide economic struggle and a World War. Elected to four terms in office, he served from 1933 to 1945 and is the only President to serve more than 2 terms. During the Great Depression he established the New Deal as an effort to help get the country back on its feet. He is also known for his Fireside Chats which is a tradition carried on today by President Obama. The State of the Union Addresses in this collection are dated from 1934 to 1945.
