The book provides a thorough and systematic description of the syntax of Old Occitan. The syntactic properties of the medieval language are illustrated through a wealth of examples chosen from a variety of texts, literary as well as non-literary: the "Boeci," the "Chanson de Sainte-Foi d'Agen," the "Chartes," the "Vie de Sainte Enimie," "Flamenca," "Jaufre" and, above all, the poetry of the troubadoures.
