Gateshead ended the season in 17th position, four points above the relegation places. Gateshead were removed from the FA Trophy after they played James Curtis, who was supposed to be serving a suspension, in their Second Qualifying Round match against Kidsgrove Athletic. Gateshead had won the match 1-0.
