Born in Portugal, he has played for the Cape Verde national team. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Veiga has spent much of his career in his home land with F.C. Alverca and C.F. Estrela da Amadora and a brief stint with S.C. Olhanense and had a long spell in neighbouring Spain with Levante UD. Veiga trained with English teams Walsall and Bury, before having trials at Tamworth during the 2006-07 pre-season.
