A Halloween sleepover turns into more than expected for Kerri. While trick-or-treating with her friends, Kerri discovers a young girl's ghost who has been wandering their neighborhood for more than 150 years. Even stranger, the girl, Ora Mae, looks like Kerri, who is the only living person who can see and hear her. Through late night conversations, Kerri learns details of Ora Mae's tragic life as a slave who lived before the Civil War. Kerri is told of a prized possession Ora Mae had lost and has been searching for all these years. Ora Mae decides to visit her new friend at school, unintentionally creating havoc in the classroom. Kerri begins enlisting the help of her friends to locate Ora Mae's treasure by using the few clues she can remember. Kerri and her friends go on a quest and locate the long-lost treasure, which allows Ora Mae to pass on to the other life.
