The symptoms of the morbid condition here described are so pronounced as to be seen even by such observers as ordinarily content themselves with a clearly superficial diagnosis. Are Christian people who have the only specific for the disease keenly alive to their responsibilities? R. College at At the installation exercises at Addison, the River Forest, new director, the Eev. W. C. Kohn, made an announcement which rejoiced the hearts of all present, and will doubtless be greeted throughout Synod with much joy. With beaming countenance he made known the receipt of a donation of $15,000 from Mr. H. Schoellkopf & Son, of Chicago, for the new college at River Forest. This offering comes at a time when greatly needed. And still there is need for more money--in small or large sums. We have many Lutherans who could well afford to give a similar sum, and many congregations which have not yet responded to the call for. funds, but could easily raise the amount yet required. The ready and liberal response on the part of our congregations to the appeal in behalf of the tornado and flood sufferers clearly demonstrates what can be done if we all but put our hands to the task impelled by love to Christ.
