George R. Stultz was born and reared in Jasonville, Indiana. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, serving his country in the Pacific Theater of World War II, he returned to Indiana. He graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and moved to Adams County, where he began a teaching career. After several years he changed direction and began an extensive and varied career in the juvenile/criminal justice field, with a master's degree in criminology. He retired in 1989 and has spent his post-retirement years reading, writing, gardening, and working with the Quaker Meeting assembly in Plainfield, Indiana.
