Passing the Plauen Grund, the Castle of Begerburg, Potschappel, and the Rabenauer Grund, it reaches Thaeanadt, 9 miles south-west of Dresden (Hotel: Deutsckes Haus). Seat of a Royal Forest Academy. There are bathing establishments and several mills. The next station is Freiberg (27 miles), (Hotels: Saxe, Hirsch, Schwarzes Ross, population 40,000. This is the great centre of miningoperations of the district. The silver mines here produce annually the value of about one million and a half dollars.
