And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and 1 will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your begin"ings: and ye shall know that I am the Lord." Ezek. xxxvi. 8--11. i measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord. 38. Behold the days come, saith the Lord, that the city shall be built to the Lord, from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner. 39. COMMENTARY. Dr. Blayney makes the following judicious remarks on tile prediction contained in these two chapters. " There are many prophecies in various parts of the Old Testament, which announce the future restoration of Israel to their own land, and the complete re-establishment of both their civil and religious constitution in the latter days. These two chapters contain a prophecy of this kind, which must necessarily be referred to those times, because it points out circumstances, which certainly were not fulfilled at the return of the J&ivs from the Babylonish captivity, ...
