Sylvain Armand (born 1 August 1980) is a French professional football (soccer) player in the left fullback position, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain in the French Ligue 1 championship. Armand also playedin different positions (left side, center back, defensive midfielder and left midfielder). Born in Saint- tienne, Loire, he started playing youth team football for AS Saint- tienne in 1994. He wasn't retained for the club's senior squad and thus moved to Clermont Foot in 1999, where he got his professional debut. In 2000, having impressed with his performances in Clermont, he switched to top-flight club FC Nantes Atlantique.
