FATEFUL ENCOUNTER A Defiant Romance (Paperback)

Virginia Eleanor Steward inherited a huge family estate that only brought her too many heartbreaks when having relationships with other very wealthy men. In order to deal with her loneliness, she decides to put her nursing diploma to good use and become a volunteer at a hospital for the uninsured, St. George's Hospital in Chicago. Although St. George's Hospital was established by her late father, but no one knew her there. So, Virginia decided to disguise her true identity and become the flashy dressing and fun loving Nurse Piffy. It was her plan to meet a middle class professional that would love her for herself and not for her tremendous wealth. Employment at the hospital had its challenges, most especially the hospital administrator that pressed her every minute of every day. But, Piffy pledged to never date any wealthy men again and she was going to keep that pledge. So, if she ever wanted to go out with a man again, a middle class man to boot, Piffy would have to put up with all the negative experiences at St. George's. All had been going well for Piffy up until a return vacation trip from a resort in Northern Wisconsin. The need for a rental car, the only one available, resulted in crossing paths with a man with all the characteristics she had pledged to avoid. Alexander was wealthy, handsome and reflected a character of extreme confidence in himself and charming personality. Piffy reflected everything Alexander found deplorable in a woman from her flashy misfitting pieces of clothing to her ridiculously colored shoes. But, the only rental available at the resort was a Mustang that brought problems for both Piffy and Alexander. The Mustang had a stick shift transmission that Alexander did not know how to drive, yet had the means to rent. Piffy, whose entire traveling luggage could not be brought from the hotel due to a torrential downpour, left her credit cards in one of the suitcases. Further, she did not have enough cash to lease the Mustang, but she could drive it. Yet, both wanted to leave the resort due to pending appointments in Chicago and one could not drive the Mustang while the other did not have the cash needed to lease it, but could drive it. After some tense conversations between Alexander and Piffy that resulted in a deep animosity between them, Alexander agreed to pay for the Mustang and, in turn, Piffy would drive the car with the condition that she follow Alexander's specific directions to Chicago. The hasty decision for both to do anything to get out of Wisconsin and to drive down to Chicago in that Mustang was the start of several mutual love-hate encounters that challenged every negative character trait related to each other. Piffy had her pledge of avoiding any possible relationship with wealthy, fake men and Alexander had his image of a fashion conscious lady. Yet, the two personalities were destined to cross paths and both their lives would become so complicated that neither could be around with or away from each other.
