Why would such an immense God take any notice of a whinging little person saying, 'Give me a sign or I won't believe in you'? There are times in our life when we become more acutely aware of our need for God's presence. In times of extreme danger or anguish even the toughest cry out for his help. You may be travelling through a dark wilderness right now. Perhaps you have been physically or mentally abused. Someone you love deeply may be suffering or may have died. You may be burdened with serious financial stress. Mistakes you have made may have left you in painful turmoil. You may feel that your whole life is upside down. While passing through such times of distress many people testify that in their extremity they sensed God's presence most tangibly. He responded to their crisis with mercy, love, compassion and emotional healing. As they reached out to him they discovered he is as solid and dependable as a rock, a comforting light in their darkness and a rich source of hope and guidance.
