Whereas in December last we wrott our delayed, letters to Henry Townsand, Richard Corbett and Andrewe Charleton, esquiers, whoe were by order-from us requiered to joine you unto them after they had made you acquainted with the tenor of our said letters, and proceed together fof the hearing of certaine matters which are preferred against one Edward Wood, which doe concernce her Majestie and the Estate. For as much as we doe perceave by your letters latelie sent unto us that by reason the foresaid gentlemen detained our said letters in their handes and made you not at all acquainted with the same, they nor you have not hetherto proceeded or dealt in th'examinacion of the said cause, althoughe we conceave that you for your owne parte (if it had not ben by the remissenes of the others) would have ben very forward for to have sene the contentes of the same dulie perforemed, these shalbe therefore verie earnestlie to praie and requier you that there maie no further delaies be had in th'examynacion of this cause, but that you presentlie doe proceed therein of your selves according to the substance and contentes specified in our said former letters, the copies of all which for your better instruction we doe send you herewithall. And so to certifie us of th'examinacions taken in that behalf, together with your opinions of the same. 17lb.. P. no.
