Not illustrated. 1904 Excerpt: ...to the abbot and convent of Beaulieu that they may hold the following waste for which they have not as yet obtained a charter, as it appears by a certificate of the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that the said waste was lately arrented to them by John de Foxle, William de Harden and Hugh de Hamslape, appointed 9 December, 11 Edward II, to arrent the king's wastes in the New Forest, co. Southampton, viz. in divers places in the south bailiwick of that forest, 223J acres by the forest perch of 20 feet, namely 80J in Notle, 22 in Codelesdon, 38 in Otterwode, 25 at la Gunildcrofte on both sides of the water, 50 at Colverle and 8 at la Fermcroft; at a rent of 74s. 6/. viz. at the rate of 4/. an acre, and the abbot and convent to enclose the same with a small dyke and low hedge, with free ingress and egress from the nearest highway, but on condition that they can claim no common without the said 223i acres. By fine of 10 marks. Pardon to Thomas de Banton for acquiring for life from Ralph, baron of Creystok, two parts of a moiety of the manor of Great Benton, co. Northumberland, held in chief, at a rent for the first thirteen years of Gl. and after that of 10Z. a year, and the reversion of the other third of the said moiety after the death of Elizabeth de Creistok, who holds it in dower, at a rent for the first thirteen years of 60s. and after that of 100s. a year. By fine of 5 marks. Northumberland. Membrane 2--cont. Presentation of William Pachet to the church of Farnyngho in the diocese of Lincoln, in the king's gift by reason of the late voidance of the abbey of Leicester.
