Guy Laroche Drakkar Noir EDT 30ml - Parallel Import

Born in 1921, French designer Guy Laroche began his fashion career as a hat maker before becoming the assistant of designer Jean Desses in 1947. To expand his understanding of the ready to wear clothing industry Laroche traveled to the United States in 1955 to study their manufacturing methods. Returning to Paris in 1957 Laroche began his own label. His first collection was well received and squarely put his name on the map. In 1961 he moved his house to a larger location, opened his first boutique and launched his first ready to wear collection. Laroche is credited with reintroducing color back into fashion - pink, orange, coral, topaz and turquoise were often seen in his creations. A humble and gracious man, Laroche believed in the wearability and practicality of his fashions - in addition to haute couture, he also strived to design everyday clothing and was the first to introduce separates into the American market. 1966 saw the creation of his first menswear line, his first men’s boutique and the introduction of his first women’s perfume, Fidji.

Taking its name from the Figi Islands in the South Pacific, Fidji is a sunny and attractive scent with beautiful exotic florals on a bed of woody moss and musky tones. Other popular Guy Laroche fragrances include the refined Jai Ose, a subtle oriental scent resting on a sweet bed of greens and Jai Ose Baby, a gentle floral presented in a baby bottle shaped vessel - both women’s perfumes and Horizon, a refreshing and spicy men’s cologne.
