Albanian Footballer of the Year in 2004, he is equally skilled with both feet and an excellent dribbler and passer of the ball, and has established himself as a key player for his club, despite being plagued by knee injuries.Vata made 17 appearances for the Albania national football team from 1996 to 2002.
