He looked around from one to the other, but was afraid to ask questions in case his sister might have been getting into disgrace over anything. Mrs. Browne was the first to speak. "Nancy ic very much disappointed," she said, "because the Sisters have invited her as a member of the Alumni to join them in the great outing they give once a year, and I can't let her go on account of baby."
