Came I not to seek Justice and pity from a prodigal? Life for my sick and hunger-stricken child I' the jaws of frosty death? But recompense This wrong, sweet Heaven GIULIO. Be comforted: this purse--Nay, for your after need WOMAN. Will it buy breath? Maddalene, my sweet one .... Curse thy gold, and thee What right hast thou to mock me? Go be hid Do you gaze still? In to your banquet, boy Drink, and believe an infant's sinless blood Creams in the goblet. Women say thou hast A face of wondrous beauty If't be so, There's loveliness in hell. Baptiste (advancing from behind). Peace, woman peace GIULIO. Back Chide her not --I'd have her rail. Such woe Should speak, and loudly. Some one take her in: Look to the child. Both both Exeunt Baptiste, Sfc. with the Woman. MANUEL. Thy pensioners Are something rough in suit. HILARIO.. And a strange time Is this for such petitions. Get yehence, Blackheads and graybeards to your rug and mat, Lest the new dawn behold these arches fringed With human icicles. Manuel (aside to Hilamo). Hist dost not see Our friend does alms in secret? Let's not sound The trump before him. Hem we 'll take our leave. To-morrow, then, at sunset? GIULIO. Ay, my friends; Exeunt all but Giulio. Since with that gracious name I am enforced To gild your fulsome fawning....
