1. The Cayman Islands is a self-governed overseas territory of the U.K., with one of the highest per capita incomes in the Caribbean. It consists of three islands, Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman, with a total land mass of about 100 square miles, and a population of 53,886 (2007 estimate), about 60 percent of whom are Caymanian.2 It is about 480 miles south of Miami, 180 miles northwest of Jamaica, and 150 miles south of Cuba.
