5th International PhD Symposium in Civil Engineering, Two Volume Set - Proceedings of the 5th International PhD Symposium (Hardcover)

The International PhD Symposium in Civil Engineering has gained worldwide recognition in the civil engineering scientific society since it was organised for the first time in Budapest in 1996. Based on the success of the earlier Symposia, the 5th Symposium was held in Delft in 16 - 19 June, 2004. A total of about 180 contributions were accepted for publication representing PhD candidates from 28 countries. The research focuses on structural, geotechnical, road and railway engineering issues. The Proceedings of the 5th Symposium provide a state of the art presentation of current ongoing research in Civil Engineering and help to identify future research needs and directions.
