Too Close for Comfort (Paperback)

Poetry has been my outlet since I began writing in 1998, and the creative process of writing poetry has been extremely therapeutic. The title Too Close for Comfort reflects how my poetry expresses my personal thoughts and emotions, as well as makes the reader think about uncomfortable topics. My early poems were abstract and concise, following the stereotypical format of poetry. My poetry then shifted into personal reflections, revealing some of my thoughts and emotions on various topics. It was raw, emotional, and much more concrete than the first poems. My poetry eventually became metaphorical stories, many containing true events in my life, while others contain fictional plots with my underlying thoughts and emotions. I would urge the reader to not take any of my poetry too literally. My poetry has been like my diary for many years, reflecting my true thoughts and emotions. My poetry reflects the fact that, like anyone, I have a range of emotions and thoughts every day. My hope is that you will not judge my character or morality by any one individual poem, but enjoy my meager creativity, have your own thoughts provoked, and relate to my poetry in some way.
