Advances in Parasitic Weed Control at on-Farm Level, Vol 2 - Joint Action to Control Orobanche in the Wana Region (Paperback)

Parasitic weeds of the genus Orobanche (Orobanchaceae) occur primarily in the Mediterranean areas and in the WANA region, namely in West Asia and North Africa. It is estimated that about 16 million hectare of arable land are endangered by Orobanche. This volume contains selected papers presented at the Regional Workshop "Joint Action to Control Orobanche in Africa: Experiences from Morocco" held at Rabat, Morocco from March 30th to April 2nd, 1998. The papers deal with the Orobanche problem in different areas of the Mediterranean region and with the analysis of the Orobanche problem, a model for simulation of growth and development in faba beans infected with Orobanche, control of Orobanche, activities and experiences in Orobanche extension and the dissemination of information at on-farm level.
