Apple (Paperback)

This is a spinoff of the book Teri by J. Rose Knight, published in June 2008. The prologue explains Apple was born to hippie parents. They joined a strict religious cult when she was five. Her world changed drastically and she was kicked out of home at thirteen.

The book starts when she is eighteen years old. She is raped by the son of her foster mother. She runs away and meets Teri. Her story parallels that of Teri for a few chapters. It is told in Appleas viewpoint. In spite of troubles with the law, boyfriends, and the rapist, she survives trials of life interweaving with her grandmotheras life and the man she ultimately marries. Through determination, luck, and intelligence she finds happiness. Sheas not perfect, but she struggles to improve her life.
