Jacob Whistler Byers (1859-1944) was an American teacher, priest, farmer and author. His father was a minister and Byers was a teacher before being called into the ministry. He and his wife Jennie became involved in the Holiness and Sanctification Movement and carried out pastoral work across America. Many of his works were published in the Gospel Trumpet Magazine, including many of his songs. In 1896 he began publishing a magazine called Tidings of Healing. His works include: The Grace of Healing (1899), Sanctification (1902), Parent and Child (? ), Bible Humility (? ) and Questions and Answers on the Subject of Divine Healing (? ).
