Jane Austen (16 December 1775 - 18 July 1817) was an English novelist. Lady Susan is a short epistolary novel. The novel describes the schemes of the main character, the widowed Lady Susan. She seeks a new husband for herself, and one for her daughter. She is a selfish, attractive woman and tries to trap the best possible husband while maintaining a relationship with a married man.
