Interview with Maj Timothy Teed (Paperback)

USMC Maj Timothy Teed serves in the Marine Corps Active Reserve (AR) program and in that capacity helped to stand up the first designated mortuary affairs unit of the Marine Corps. In this November 2010 interview, Maj Teed discusses what went into standing this unit up, his role stateside, and the challenges associated with this particular duty. Maj Teed concludes his interview with the observation, "Everything has been a wonderful experience in the sense of my military career so far to this point. Even my own personal deployment to Fallujah, I was on a staff and I worked at night, and then I had a chance to help with closing a small Marine base so I was able to get my hands dirty, which was fun. I was actually playing my role as a logistics officer versus sitting at a computer. My experience with mortuary affairs has been so rewarding that I miss it; I miss Atlanta and that unit and the camaraderie. We were so close. It was a great experience."
