John Francis "Jack" Reed is the senior U.S. Senator from Rhode Island and a member of the Democratic Party. Previously he served in the United States House of Representatives for Rhode Island's 2nd congressional district. Reed was born in Cranston, Rhode Island, to Mary Louise and Joseph Anthony Reed. Reed graduated from La Salle Academy and the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1971.
