I Lived There Once: A Family Farm Memoir (Electronic book text)

The story of a family farm of Norwegian immigrants and their descendents in a rural Goodhue County Minnesota community. The author was born and grew up on this farm, which was settled by his great-grandparents. He reflects on what a family farm was and the decline of the family farm as we knew it. Contains anectodes and stories of those who lived there from 1864 to the present, and geneological information on the Solberg and Aaker families. The author lived and worked in many countries with small-scale farmers, and brings a perspective from that experience. More then 100 photos.
