Excerpt: ... 66th Stanza. John viii. 44.--Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 1 John iii. 8.--He that committeth sin is of the devil: for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 67th Stanza. Gen. iii. 15.--And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Gal. iv. 5.--To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 68th Stanza. 1 Cor. xv. 21, 22.--For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
