The Other Fella (Paperback)

This work presents the story of the Reilly family of Birkenhead in the years just after the end of the Second World War. The events involving the Reilly's and their neighbours in 'Brookie' are seen through the eyes of Jimmy and recounted by him as he roams the streets of the town with the rest of the Brook Street gang, snubbing authority and getting into a continuous string of dodgy scrapes and conflicts. These are offset, however, by treks and adventures the gang pursue in the surrounding countryside and seaside resorts during these immediate post-war childhood days.
