When Jeremiah meets Sara, he feels as if he has found the woman of his dreams. He faces betrayal, set-backs and torture, especially in obtaining the Bloodstone. Nothing comes easy for Jeremiah as he tries to uncover the mysteries of his new life and give a "new breed" of vampire a good name; neither of which, he learns, is a very easy task.
