Marcy Mary - The Memoirs of a Dachshund American Princess (Paperback)

Whoever said there's no royalty in America never lived with a Dachshund. And there is no Dachshund more regal, more observant, more adventurous, and more willing to oversee a household than MarcyMary, the true Dachshund American princess. And yes, Marcy Mary has written a tell-all.
Destined to follow in the paw-steps of her best-in-show mother, Marcy Mary is accidentally abandoned in a snowy forest. Rescued from the road, she is given over to a family of "two-leggeds,"the Anthonys. Marcy Mary soon learns that her new pack lacks her gift for two-way communication(after all, she understands their every word). They allow a Siamese cat to live amongst them(unfortunately, the feline is quite conversant). And Dad is slow to recognize the honor of sharing one's bed with an auburn purebred Dachshund with a delightfully cold, wet nose.
Someone of lesser breeding would collapse under the stress, but Marcy Mary's exceptional qualities come through even as a young puppy. A canine of contradictions, Marcy Mary is earthy yet spiritual, witty but wise, a gourmand who is an opportunistic diner. Above all she is a keen observer of the world she shares with her family and friends. And she never forgets the wisdom and grace of the Creatorwho watches all creatures-the two-leggeds and those with four, perfectly proportioned legs.
Marcy Mary explains her special role in the human world-to teach, protect and love the Anthony family as only a Dachshund princess can. And she spares no details about her personal acquaintances both wild and domestic, including a suitor from "the wrong side of the fence." (Oh, the scandal!)
Marcy Mary: The Memoirs of a Dachshund American Princess, The Early Years is the affectionate, funny, inspirational tale that only a dog could tell. And she has!
About the Author
After retiring from a career in public health, Kathleen Chamberlin has returned to her first love: creative writing. Her first book, Marcy Mary: The Memoirs of Dachshund American Princess-the Early Yearsis a humorous and touching story told from the title character's point of view, chronicling the triumphs, predicaments and wisdom of this exceptional canine. Kathleen has lived with Dachshunds for many years and finds their company stimulating-always interesting and sometimes exasperating. She is honored that Marcy Mary chose her to turn her stories into a book.
Kathleen is no stranger to writing. Originally an English Creative Writing major, she switched to Public Health Nursing to "earn some real money," but her writing ability was in demand throughout her professional career.
