Kenta Abe (born, September 8, 1984 in Matsuyama, Ehime, Japan) is a right-handed professional baseball pitcher for the Hanshin Tigers in Nippon Professional Baseball. He was the number 4 draft pick for the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes in 2003. During his high school days, he played at Koshien Stadium. Nippon Professional Baseball or NPB is the highest level of baseball in Japan. Locally, it is often called Puro Yaky, meaning Professional Baseball. Outside of Japan, it is often just referred to as "Japanese baseball."
