Louisville, Ky., July 11, 1907. To the President and Members of the Kentucky State Bar Association: The Secretary respectfully reports that the proceedings of the Fifth Annual Meeting of the Association, which was held in Winchester, were duly compiled and published, copies being sent to each member of the Association and to the libraries throughout the country. I received a letter from the Secretary of the Louisville Bar Association which I wish to make a part of my report and will read later. This letter refers to this Association certain amendments to the election laws of Kentucky which are attached to said letter. As this matter has come to my hands only in the last day or two, there has been no time to refer it to the proper committee, and I therefore recommend that a special committee be appointed at once to consider these amendments and report back to this Association to-morrow, Friday afternoon, July 12th. Respectfully submitted, R. A. Mcdowell, Secretary. The Secretary then read the letter referred to in his report, as follows: Louisville, Ky., July 9, 1907. Mr. R. A. Mcdowell, Secretary Kentucky State Bar Association: Dear Sir: --At a meeting of the Louisville Bar Association, held January 28, 1907, a resolution was adopted instructing the President of the Association to present to the Kentucky State Bar Association a proposed amendment to the Election Law recommended by the Louisville Bar Association, and to ask the State Bar Association to endorse the same and to appoint a committee to present it to the next General Assembly and urge its passage.
