It is difficult to think of Wyatt Earp without also calling to mind Doc Holliday, and the legendary gunfight at the OK Corral. Many movies have already been made about the characters and events, though this one would appear to be far closer to the actual historic events than most of its predecessors. Kevin Cosner makes an agreeably sensitive Wyatt Earp, while Dennis Quaid is a suitably crusty Doc Holliday and Gene Hackman fills in the good casting as Nicholas Porter Earp, one of Wyatts several siblings. This offering might seem a tad slow moving for some fans of the Western genre, but it does allow for the excellent character development that is all-too-often simply scanned over in high-budget horse-operas.
