Hence as a rule more attention is paid to the rhythm than to subtlety of thought. The following lines form a sprightly little poem, and it is a good example of those light-hearted compositions in which the Troubadours more especially excelled. Thewriter is unknown, and it is assigned by Bartsch to the twelfth century.
