Prior to 1945 it was in Germany.It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) south of Stronie l skie, 26 kilometres (16 mi) south-east of K odzko, and 99 kilometres (62 mi) south of the regional capital Wroc aw. Wroc aw was the historical capital of Silesia and is today the capital of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
