Christopher "Chris" Holroyd is an English professional football player who currently plays for League Two side Rotherham United. Holroyd started his football career at Crewe Alexandra, progressing through the club's youth system, before failing to earn a professional contract in 2005. He subsequently joined Chester City for the third year of his scholarship, and signed professional terms in 2006. Holroyd broke into Chester's first-team during the 2006-07 season, and played over fifty times for the club. However, in July 2008, Holroyd left Chester by mutual agreement with a year remaining on his contract.
